Fall Delegation Update
Article written by Colin Bossen
It's not too
late to join our solidarity delegation October 23rd through the 31st. The goals of the Chiapas Peace House solidarity delegation are to
accompany and support the people of Chiapas who are working towards
alternative development and community organizing, as well as, to
provide the delegates with new tools, perspectives and inspiration for
their work in their home communities.
We will be learning and
discussing with local organizations and communities who have decades of
experience in resistance to militarization, corporate globalization,
discrimination such as Zapatista communities, Kinal Azentik (a woman's
organization), DESMI (community sustainable development) and CIEPAC (an
anti-globalization research and activism center), among others. We will
have a rigorous schedule, but there will also be time to explore San
Cristobal, relax and reflect. As a group we will have many discussions,
a privilege and international solidarity workshop and a session about
how
to take our experiences into our organizing in our home countries.
There is still space available on the delegation, but get your
application in soon! More information and application now available on
our web site (www.chiapaspeacehouse.org).
