It has been three years since the deaths of Pánfilo Hernández, Alejandro García Hernández, Brad Will, Esteban Zúrita, and Alfonso Fabián, all of whom were murdered in October of 2006 during the popular rebellion.  Events marking the anniversary of their deaths and the continuation of popular struggle have taken place throughout the month.  A march in memory of Alejandro García was held 14th of October.  Then on the 18th of October, another march, this time in honor of the teacher Pánfilo Hernández, was held by Section 22 of the Teachers Union.  Beginning of the 27th of October and continuing through the month of November, CASA Chapulín will be participating in the First Independent Media Film Festival in honor of the life of Brad Will.  The festival is happening simultaneously in Oaxaca , Mexico City, New York , and other cities across the world.  Here in Oaxaca , CASA Chapulín will be showing three films: La Ley de Semillas on the 5th of November,  Cosecha Amarga on the 12th of November, and Las Mujeres Zapatistas on the 25th of November.  Each film will begin at 6pm on the scheduled date.  Here you can read more about the festival.
