A huge mass of people is gathering on the road from Oaxaca to Mexico City. Directed by the APPO to peacefully obstruct the advance of the PFP, thousands of citizens of Oaxaca City have surrounded a column of 3,500 PFP agents. Approximately 20,000 people in front and behind them, “accompanying” their entrance into the city. At this time, the PFP column is at a standstill.

At the same time, blockades are being reported at different locations across the state, including the highway between Oaxaca and Tlaxiaco, while a caravan of residents from Mixteca and the Central Valleys begin to move in a caravan towards Oaxaca City.

Much of the media is falsly reporting that the people of Oaxaca are coming out to express their gratitude for the arrival of the PFP. To the contrary, despite the dozens of checkpoints that the Mexican Military and the PFP have installed in the different regions of the state, thousands of people will arrive in the coming hours to Oaxaca City.

Let us make it clear: The APPO is not attacking the PFP. We are not grateful to theses minions of a decadent regime. We continue to denounce that URO has given instructions to his police, and infiltrators to fire on members of the PFP and the Army.

Against brute force that the Federal Government hopes to unleash on the people who fight for Justice and Democracy, we stand firm with intelligence and Peaceful Mobilization.
